Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher Mrs Sarah Coleman welcomes families to Oak Grange, describing it as a warm, inclusive community where children are nurtured, challenged, and inspired. She highlights growth from “tiny seeds become mighty trees” and outlines the school’s values and the Grow curriculum (global citizens, seven Attitudes to Learning: resilient, reciprocal, respectful, resourceful, reflective, responsible, Remember), and the motto of growing strong roots, reaching high and flourishing.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Wraparound care is available as Breakfast Club (7:30–9:00) and After-School Club (3:30–6:00). The nursery/early years pages show a universal 15-hour offer with optional extended hours and examples of full-time wraparound patterns. Additional hours are charged at £6 per hour. Lunch times are supervised, with hot lunches available at £2.85 per day.

SEND Provision

Oak Grange provides SEN support led by a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). The SEN policy and SEND information are available on the site, including references to the Local Offer (Derby City Council) and the SEND Information Report. The school describes its use of the SEN Code of Practice categories (Communication and Interaction; Cognition and Learning; Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties; Sensory and/or Physical Needs) and notes facilities such as a Sensory Room and a dedicated space called ‘The Nest’ to support pupils with additional needs.
