The school follows the Derbyshire Agreed R.E syllabus 2025-2030 and aims to enable pupils to participate in an ongoing search for wisdom by exploring questions raised by human experience and the religions/beliefs of the local community, including the main religions of the world represented in the community.
Becket Primary School focuses on learning and personal development in a safe, happy environment with high priority given to pastoral care, safeguarding, and high behaviour standards. The school aims to inspire learners to go beyond what they think is possible, to experience new things, and to realise their full potential, while valuing inclusivity and partnership with parents.
Clubs
Before school provision opens 7:50am–8:30am; After-school provision opens 3:30pm; options 3:30–4:30, 3:30–5:30, or 4:30–5:30 (for pupils taking part in an extra-curricular club followed by wraparound care). The service is located on school premises (in The Hub for KS2). Children booked into after-school club until 5:30pm are offered a light tea. Bookings and payments via the Eduspot SchoolMoney app. Becket Primary Breakfast Offer includes a partnership with the National School Breakfast Programme and Classroom Bagels at 8:30am. New rates introduced 23 June 2025 and valid until April 2026.
Becket Primary School has a published Pupil Admission Number (PAN) of 30. Oversubscription criteria (in order) include: (1) looked after children or those who were looked after and are/were subject to adoption, child arrangements, or special guardianship orders; (2) children living in the catchment area with brothers or sisters of compulsory school age still attending the school; (3) other children living in the catchment area; (4) children not in the catchment area but with brothers or sisters at the school; (5) other children whose parents have requested a place; (6) other children where a place is requested after the closing date. Tie-breaker is distance from home to school (straight-line first, then shortest walking route). Home address is the address of the primary carer as shown by Child Benefit.
New Rates From 23rd June 2025: Before school provision 7:50am–8:30am £2.50 per session; 8:15am–8:30am £1.00 per session. After-school provision 3:30pm–4:30pm £3.00 per session; 4:30pm–5:30pm £4.00 per session; 3:30pm–5:30pm £6.00 per session. Bookings and payments via Eduspot SchoolMoney app. Becket uses SchoolMoney for payments (trips, dinners, uniform, etc.) and accepts childcare vouchers. National School Breakfast Programme information and related guidance are provided. Tax-Free Childcare information is also included.
