St. Patrick’s is a Catholic Primary School in which faith is central to all aspects of school life. Religious Education is described as the ‘Core of the Core Curriculum’; 10% RE curriculum time is allocated across all key stages. The Catholic ethos permeates learning, supporting the moral, social and spiritual development of pupils. The school emphasises the Gospel values of love and service, and seeks to nurture religious maturity. The Eucharist is celebrated regularly; the parish priest (Fr. Gordon Ryan) participates in liturgical life, and Mass and other liturgical events are a feature of school life. The school maintains strong links with its parish and the wider Catholic community, including activities such as Lent and Advent fundraising for CAFOD and Catholic Children’s Society, and opportunities for pupils to be altar servers and participate in Masses.
