"We do things differently here!"
Headteacher Dan Blundred welcomes families and describes The Axis Academy as a SEN Free School focused on transforming lives through a compassionate, personalised and trauma-informed approach, with strong partnerships with families and multi-agency professionals.
Breakfast is available on arrival (8:15–8:30). After-school activities run from 14:30 to 15:30.
The Axis Academy provides SEND provision through a trauma-informed, holistic approach with one-to-one and group interventions, targeted support, and integrated classroom practices. The school works with pastoral teams, employs a counsellor on site, and collaborates with external agencies (e.g., CAMHS, Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Care) to support students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The Axis Academy provides 68 places for children of both sexes aged 4–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health diagnosis and an EHCP. To be admitted, the school must be named by a Local Authority in the child’s EHCP.
