Head Teacher's Message

Waterside Academy’s Headteacher, Shuabur Rahman, states a mission to make Waterside the first choice for Hackney parents, emphasising a nurturing environment, a personalised curriculum in a small school, high-quality teaching, and opportunities beyond the classroom, with a strong emphasis on family involvement and community.

Admissions Criteria

Oversubscription Criteria: 1 Looked after children and all previously looked after children who apply for a place at the school. 2 Children who have a sibling at the school who is reasonably expected to still be on roll at the school when they are due to start (this means year 11 siblings cannot be counted). Siblings include step siblings, foster siblings, adopted siblings and other children living permanently in the same household. 3 Children of staff at the school, in either of the following circumstances: a) The member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, or b) The member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant teaching post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. 4 All other applicants determined by distance.
