Headteacher's Welcome: Capella House is a unique special school for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Opened in 2019, it has purpose-built facilities and a vibrant, welcoming community.
Capella House will admit pupils named in an Education, Health and Care Plan by the local authority. The majority of places are commissioned by Achieving for Children (AfC) for the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames and the Royal Borough of Kingston. If places remain unfilled by February 15th for the September start, the remaining places may be made available to other Local Authorities. The LA must consult with the school and consider documents submitted by the LA, including the Education, Health and Care Plan (with appendices) and a Speech and Language Therapist’s report. Where available, additional documents may include other school reports (attainment and standardised tests), Educational Psychologist reports, Occupational Therapist reports, other medical reports, and reports from independent professionals relating to therapy and education. If you think your child may be appropriate for Capella House, please complete the admissions form.
