Abbey Mead is a multi-cultural and multi-faith community; embraces and celebrates being multi-cultural and multi-faith and is proud that the whole school community comes together when celebrating a range of religious festivals from varying faiths.
Abbey Mead is a large inner-city primary academy committed to helping pupils reach their full potential, emphasising positive learning behaviours (the 6Rs), outdoor learning, subsidised trips, and specialist sports provision. It is part of The Mead Educational Trust (TMET) and aims to provide a world-class education and strong staff development within a collaborative network.
Sports
Abbey Mead offers an inclusive education with targeted interventions for pupils with SEND. Pupils on the SEND Register receive three reviews per year (via a Pupil Passport). Where needed, outside agencies may be involved, and there can be discussions about Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) as part of the SEND process.
Abbey Mead Primary Academy is its own admissions authority and sets its criteria, but admissions are administered through Leicester City Council in accordance with the School Admissions Code; apply via Leicester City Council.
