Welcome to Borrow Wood! We are part of the Odyssey Collaborative Trust and a successful primary school with our own nursery provision. Headteacher: Natalie Bartlett. Paper copies of documents available free of charge on request; contact via admin team.
Enhanced Resource Facility (ERF) opened April 2025 for children with complex communication and interaction needs, many with Autistic Spectrum Condition. ERF teaching is tailored to current development stage, with Curriculum Enhancements including Attention Autism, Social Skills Sessions, sensory-based learning activities, Lego Therapy, Engagement Focus Sessions and Fine Motor Skills activities. Places are allocated by the Local Authority and this provision is integrated within Borrow Wood Primary School.
Borrow Wood Primary School adheres to Derby City Council's admission arrangements. Reception entry is in September with one intake; standard pupil admission number is 30 per year. Applications window 3 November 2024 to 15 January 2025. Applications are via Derby City Council (online admissions). Nursery admissions are handled by the school. Admission policy is based on the Local Authority Booklet and Derby City Council information.
All education during school hours is free. We do not charge for any activity undertaken as part of the National Curriculum and Foundation Stage Curriculum. Some costs for extra-curricular activities may be charged to parents/carers.
