"Refreshed learning that changes lives."
Our Christian ethos places love at the centre of all that we do, as it says in the bible: "Faith, hope and love - the greatest of these is love." At Clarity, we believe that children thrive in a loving environment, where they are free to be themselves, to be happy, to grow and learn. They are encouraged not only to tolerate each other, but to have an all-encompassing mutual respect for each other, their teachers and for other staff and visitors, learning ways to celebrate their uniqueness and individuality. We aim to be a school where children have fun, are confident learners with a high self-esteem; where children learn to love learning and carry this ethos with them throughout their lives.
The Head Teacher Welcome: "Welcome to Clarity Independent School, an open-hearted, nurturing and academically challenging special needs school. Here, students can thrive and learn to be compassionate and caring citizens. I am delighted to serve as the Head Teacher in this forward-looking, up-and-coming school."
Clarity provides Speech and Language Therapy (half termly) with a qualified Speech and Language Therapist; key vocabulary targeted in quality first teaching; prescribed therapy rehearsed several times weekly with keyworkers and teaching staff in timetabled intervention sessions. We also offer wellbeing counselling/coaching with SOS Holistics (weekly one-to-one time as needed), Occupational Therapy half-termly reviews with a named practitioner, on-site Dyslexia Tuition delivered by the on-site Dyslexia Specialist teacher and headteacher, individual guitar lessons weekly, and a range of enrichment activities and trips as part of our therapy and wellbeing provision.
Clarity admits pupils who already have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and have been referred by the Local Authority. Referrals are reviewed by an admissions panel; we can only accept referrals from Local Authorities and are not able to accept referrals from parents/pupils. Visits can be arranged; the process may take several months and involves coordination with the Local Authority.
