Curriculum Highlights

The academic curriculum is adapted from the Equals schemes of work, with elements from Cornerstones Maestro for those following the national curriculum more closely. Support for our therapeutic curriculum is based on the SCERTS model, incorporating social communication, emotional regulation and transactional support. The TEACCH (Autism) framework focuses on physical organisation, individual schedules, work and activity systems and visual structure of materials. Planning and assessment follow the Equals informal, semi-formal and formal schemes of work structure. The therapy and well-being team work with teachers to ensure that their individual pupil assessments are incorporated into the planning cycle.

SEND Provision

All pupils at Woodcroft will have an Education Health and Care plan (EHC plan) developed under the guidance of the sending local authority, forming the basis of provision for each child. The plan is reviewed at least annually in consultation with parents, local authority professionals and the pupil where appropriate.

Admissions Criteria

The basis for admission is that the child’s needs are met by the provision at Woodcroft and that there is a vacancy in an appropriate class group. Following a referral by the pupil’s local authority, the head teacher makes a decision on suitability in consultation with senior management. Fees are the responsibility of the local authority and are payable one term in advance. Authorities wishing to transfer a pupil to another school must give one term’s notice in writing. More details are available from the school office. The school’s Admissions policy can be found on the Policies page and we are also happy to answer any questions you may have.

Financial Information
