Reception admissions: maximum 120 places; children normally admitted to reception in September following their 4th birthday as Foundation Stage pupils. Offers are allocated by the Local Authority and issued by post and online. Successful applicants are invited to an induction meeting to view the school and learn about routines. Pre-school taster sessions in June and July are offered. In-Year Admissions and transfers can be made via Sefton Council with guidance available on Sefton’s site; admissions outside normal age group can be requested with reference to Sefton’s guidance. Year 6 transition to secondary requires a formal application through Sefton Council; online applications start when the child moves into Year 6 and are due by 31 October; offers are made in March. Appeals are heard by an independent panel. Open Days take place in Autumn term. Nursery provides places for 3- and 4-year-olds with 15 hours Universal Offer or 30 hours Extended Offer. The 15-hour Universal Offer can be taken as options such as 5 mornings, 5 afternoons, 2.5 days at the start or end of the week. The 30-hour Extended Offer must be taken as one of the 15-hour options and can be supplemented with up to 4.5 days per week between 8:30am and 3:30pm. Additional hours are charged (£15 for 8:30–11:30, £5 for 11:30–12:30, £15 for 12:30–3:30). If using 2.5 days, a 11:30–12:30 lunch break is provided or can be paid for. School dinners cost £2.15 per day; packed lunches are also available. There are conditions around applications, deposits for additional hours, and payment terms (half-termly in advance; late payments may forfeit additional sessions). Attendance does not guarantee admission to primary education and parents must apply for a school place in the usual way. The level of nursery fees is set by the Local Academy Council and is reviewed annually.
