Chaplaincy at St Joseph’s supports the Catholic life and mission of the school by leading our St Joseph’s family in prayer, worship, serving others and putting our faith into action. The chaplaincy team Lead collective worship in class, year groups and whole school acts of worship, and Year 6 school chaplains represent the school in governance matters and in widening Catholic life across the CMAT. The school has strong links with local parishes (St Joseph’s and Our Lady of Lourdes) and parish clergy who visit and support school life. The school also notes its school prayer and its commitment to the Gospel values, virtues and discipleship within the Catholic community.
As Headteacher it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St. Joseph’s Catholic School Website. We strive to enable every child to reach their own potential; while proud of our academic achievements, developing the whole child is equally important; you are warmly invited to visit, meet staff and pupils, and soak up the distinctive atmosphere of the school.
The Admissions Authority for all schools within the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust is the Trust; admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. Decisions on admission applications are made by the Governing Body of the Academy. The schools primarily serve Catholic communities but welcome applications from all parents and carers regardless of faith. The school provides information on In-Year Admissions (with Derby City Council as the application channel), and faith-based admissions require the Supplementary Information Form and evidence of faith. For further details see the SRSCMAT Admissions Policy and related documents (In-Year Admissions 2024-2025, Supplementary Information Form, and Primary Admission policies).
