Curriculum Highlights

Singapore/Shanghai mastery approach to maths using Power Maths textbooks (aligned to the National Curriculum and recommended by the DfE) and enhanced with Same Day Intervention. Textbooks use a concrete-pictorial-abstract progression to build understanding and are designed for UK curriculum classrooms. Maths resources and intervention are integrated with Power Maths. Read Write Inc. used for phonics and reading; home reading and associated activities described (Accelerated Reader described for years 2–6). Accelerated Reader used to quiz and guide reading choices; the English curriculum emphasises writing with focus on spelling, punctuation and grammar. Spelling, punctuation and grammar are embedded across writing; high emphasis on developing vocabulary and sentence construction.
