Emma Smith, Principal, welcomes you to Leigh Academy Blackheath, describing it as a place where tradition meets innovation and potential is realised within a nurturing community. The school emphasises values of Respect, Integrity, Ambition, Scholarship and Resilience, plus a small-school, human-scale education model with personalised learning and strong partnerships with parents.

Curriculum Highlights

Delivered through the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) framework for KS3 and the development of the IB learner profile attributes. Use of real-life, client-style projects and project-based learning to contextualise knowledge and develop collaboration. A strong emphasis on digital skills, digital citizenship and the use of digital technology to enhance learning. A blended approach combining traditional pedagogy with digital learning to create 21st-century learning environments.
