Mr Ransome presents Wath Academy as an oversubscribed 11-18 academy within Maltby Learning Trust, emphasising a journey from previous OFSTED concerns to outstanding in several areas, and outlining a vision of delivering exceptional learning experiences and seven key drivers to achieve educational excellence.
SEND policy includes Universal Offer, Targeted Offer and Specialist Offer. The SENDCo is Miss E Greenfield. There are processes for identifying needs, creating IEPs, regular reviews and meetings with parents, and engagement with external agencies as required (e.g., Educational Psychologists, S Linguistic/Speech Therapy, CAMHS, and others). Interventions are reviewed through baseline assessments and a four-part graduated approach (assess-plan-do-review).
PAN is 330; the Local Authority (Rotherham) coordinates admissions on behalf of Maltby Learning Trust; applications should be made via the RMBC School Admissions Team; in oversubscription scenarios the Local Authority and WA Admissions Arrangements criteria apply; places not offered are added to a waiting list; in-year applications are coordinated by RMBC; current admission limits for years 8–11 are 330.
