"Engaged to Learn"
Ellie Wood welcomes visitors to Pollyteach, describing a safe, nurturing and inclusive space for 8-16 year-olds with a range of SEND. The ethos is 'Engaged to Learn.' The school offers a flexible timetable with core GCSE subjects, is part of the Portland Charity Group, and emphasizes personal development, well-being, and strong partnerships with families and referrers.
Pollyteach provides SEND support including Occupational Therapy, Positive Behaviour Support and Mental Health & Well-being; specialist therapy staff support learners with these needs; dedicated well-being team and access to therapeutic services as part of an inclusive provision.
Applications are accepted throughout the year for students aged 8-16. If the child is not in school, the Local Authority should be contacted to express interest in Pollyteach and apply via the Referral Form. If the child is currently in school, the child’s school should apply via the Referral Form on their behalf. Pollyteach will assess whether we can meet the child’s needs; if we can, the family is invited to visit, and if both parties are happy and we can provide a suitable placement, an offer is issued.
