Welcome to City of Rochester School. It is a specialist school for children and young people aged 5–18 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school offers a highly personalised, bespoke curriculum guided by the core principles of Confidence, Resilience and Success, delivered through a therapeutic and nurturing approach. The Headteacher is Alicja Emmett.
City of Rochester School is an independent, special school for children with Autism and associated complex needs and can accommodate 60 students between the ages of 5 to 18. A request for a place must be made to the SEN Team. Following referral papers, a decision is made on whether we can meet the child’s needs. A visit is arranged, followed by a 6-week trial placement to assess suitability. If successful, a permanent place is offered and agreed with the Local Authority. The child must have a diagnosis of Autism. The Local Authority may name City of Rochester School on Section 1 of the EHCP. Enquiries from parents/carers prior to this stage are welcomed.
