Curriculum Highlights

All‑through provision for students from Year R (EYFS) to Year 14 (Sixth Form). The academy is arranged into communities dependent on students’ diagnoses and needs. Small class sizes with adult-to-student ratios ranging from 2:1 to 1:13. Progression routes include GCSE and BTEC; progression to Level 3 and equivalents in the Sixth Form. A track record of pupils achieving more than predicted with a variety of qualifications (Unit Awards, Entry Level, Level 1/2, GCSE, BTEC).

SEND Provision

Bradfields Academy is a specialist SEND provision with a focus on complex learning needs (including autism). It describes itself as an innovative forward-thinking SEND provision and notes that all students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Statement of Special Educational Needs; it operates as an all-through provision from Reception (Year R) to Sixth Form (Year 14).

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are processed through standard in-house SEND procedures coordinated with the Medway Local Authority SEN Team. Designation: Special Education — Complex Learning Needs (MLD/ASD). Places are 425 (with a phased increase to 444 by September 2026). All students must have a Statement of SEN/EHCP. Admissions involve assessment of needs, transition planning, induction, and LA involvement; in-year admissions are managed by the Local Authority.
