Welcome to Purple Oaks Academy from Principal Merushka Hansraj; describes the academy as popular, oversubscribed and an all-through special school; emphasizes EHCP-based support, an exciting curriculum, and a focus on developing independence and adulthood; highlights addressing individual needs and celebrating progress.

SEND Provision

Specialist provision for students with autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties; all pupils have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Admissions Criteria

Purple Oaks Academy admits students named in an EHCP; PAN 120 (100 in main school, 20 in The Hub; Post-16 provision). Currently 126 on roll, exceeding PAN. Admission criteria include suitability for age/ability/SEN; placement not incompatible with others; parental preference; main need is autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties as identified in EHCP. Admission procedures involve contact with LA EHCP team, visits, Principal review, and LA decision on placement; appeals available via SEN and Disability Tribunal; transport provided if criteria met; aims for continued provision to end of KS5.
