Curriculum Highlights

The Futura Curriculum is followed for all subject areas with exceptions for science (Plan B), Physical Education (REAL PE Scheme) and Modern Foreign Languages (French developed in-house). The curriculum is ambitious and designed to provide access to powerful knowledge and to exceed the national curriculum where possible; it aims to be inclusive and to promote progression from 3-19 years. Curriculum intent emphasises collaboration, aspiration, and development of cultural capital; it draws on elements from the National Primary Curriculum (NPC) and is supplemented by cross-trust experiences.

SEND Provision

The school has an Inclusion Team led by SENCO Rose Webb and other safeguarding and inclusion staff (including SENCO Assistant and Home School Liaison). The SENCO and key staff can be contacted via [email protected] or [email protected]. The school describes its approach to safeguarding, inclusion, and the local offer for SEND, including the Graduated Approach and Accessibility Plan.

Admissions Criteria

14 places in the specialist autism centre provision are allocated by the Local Authority and not through school admissions. In-year admissions are handled by the school; applications should be made using an In-Year Admission Form distributed by the school and via Somerset’s guidance. The school provides links to admission arrangements for 2025-26, 2026-27, and proposed 2027-28 admissions.
