Manshead CE Academy is a Church of England Academy and is part of the Diocese of St Albans Multi-Academy Trust. The mission is to create an atmosphere of Christian values, attitudes, practice and knowledge such that all learners will have the opportunity to nurture their faith.

SEND Provision

All students with SEND are taught a full range of subjects by teachers with training and experience of adapting lessons to make them accessible, but appropriately challenging, for all students. The quality of provision for students with SEND is regularly monitored and reviewed as part of our quality assurance processes. Teaching Assistants provide additional support in the classroom to help students access the curriculum. Special Access Arrangements are put in place for examinations when needed. Targeted students also access additional learning opportunities. The Academy’s SENDCOs are: KS3 James Fleckney; KS4 & 5 Jade Thomas. Strategic lead for SEND is Miss Sophie Hall. Aims include ensuring access to broad curriculum, early identification, progress, parental involvement.

To apply for a place, this is done through the Local Authority, for Year 6 to Year 7 admissions and through the LA or direct through the school, as set out in our admissions policy below.
