Curriculum Highlights

Phonics taught using Read Write Inc Long-term curriculum cycles: 2-year cycle in Key Stage 1 and 4-year cycle in Key Stage 2 Curriculum spans English, Maths, Art, PSHE, Science, Music, RE, History, Modern Foreign Language, Geography, PE, Computing, Design Technology, Spirituality; RE uses the Somerset syllabus; British Values are incorporated.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions operate on an equal-preference basis. Priority A covers Looked-After Children; Priority B covers children living within 1.5 miles with a sibling in attendance at the preferred school or children living outside 1.5 miles for whom it is their closest school and who have a sibling there; Priority C allows a staff member to apply for a Reception place for their child if employed at the school for at least two years; Priority D covers children who live closest to the school. Distances are measured in a direct line. In cases of oversubscription, random allocation may determine places. The Local Authority coordinates offers and late applications, with appeals and waiting lists managed by the school and LA.
