Our school currently provides additional and/or different provision for a range of needs, including: Communication and interaction, for example, autistic spectrum disorder, speech and language difficulties; Cognition and learning, for example, dyslexia, dyspraxia; Social, emotional and mental health difficulties, for example, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); Sensory and/or physical needs, for example, visual impairments, hearing impairments, processing difficulties, epilepsy; Moderate/severe/profound and multiple learning difficulties; Medical needs for example, diabetes, allergies.
Wellgate Primary School follows the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council Admissions Policy. All Parents/Carers must apply directly to the Local Authority for admission into the Reception Class and any in-year transfers from Local Authority Schools. Children who have an Education, Health and Care Plan which names the school are required to be admitted. The school aims to be inclusive and will endeavour to meet the needs of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Advice from the LA or other agencies may be requested to ensure the school can meet any needs appropriately.
