Head Teacher's Message

Elizabeth Woodville School is an inclusive comprehensive school with approximately 1100 students, located on two sites (Roade and Deanshanger). It emphasizes ambition, confidence, curiosity, leadership and respect, aims for strong academic achievement, and encourages participation in extra-curricular activities and strong relationships with parents and the local community.

Curriculum Highlights

Five-year model with a wide range of subjects in Key Stage 3 and a bespoke 'future choices' in Key Stage 4. Clear progress over five years, where students learn more, know more and remember more. Additional time is given to English and Mathematics to ensure that students have the essential skills needed for life and to access the full curriculum. Targeted support and additional challenge to ensure that provision is in place to enable all students to make progress in line with national expectations. Zero narrowing of the curriculum for SEND students, whenever appropriate. Drop-down Days to address SMSC principles and raise aspirations. Extra-curricular programme provides additional time. In Key Stage 3 (years 7-9), the majority of subjects are taught in mixed ability groups with sequential learning and regular assessment; 'Feedforward' for improvement on progress.

Admissions Criteria

Admits girls and boys of all backgrounds, aptitudes, abilities and beliefs; no religious affiliation.
