Curriculum Highlights

Knowledge and skills based curriculum that is progressive and broad, aligned to the National Curriculum with a thematic, enquiry-based approach. Early years progression with Development Matters guiding the transition to KS1 and KS2. All foundation subjects have key concepts taught and are threaded through across the child’s education, aided by knowledge and skills organisers. Learning is reinforced through recall, conferencing, questioning and varied assessment opportunities to promote depth of learning. Pupils learn outside the classroom in specialist spaces (e.g., Performing Arts Studio, Creative Hub, Design and Technology Hub, Music Zone) and in a substantial outdoor area (edible playground, farm, pond, bird watching station, orchard). There are partnerships with organisations such as I Can Be, WE, Unicef (Rights Respecting) to enrich learning and global citizenship. The curriculum aims to develop independent, resilient, respectful citizens who can transfer knowledge across contexts and identify their impact on the world.
