Head Teacher's Message

Welcome to Greater Peterborough UTC. We are Peterborough's first STEM-specialist school, giving young people the chance to follow a unique academic and technical curriculum into higher education or the world of work.

Curriculum Highlights

The GPUTC has a unique 5- year curriculum model covering Key Stages 3 & 4 which predominantly focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths (STEM). Key Stage 3: years 7 & 8 follow a pathway of learning focusing on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art (Design) and Maths) with a core curriculum in English, Computer Science, Geography and History; heavy emphasis on literacy and oracy; Extending the Boundaries of Learning through PLEDGES, The Baker Award, clubs and residential experiences; statutory delivery of PHSE, RE and PE. Key Stage 4: years 9, 10 & 11 continue a STEM rich learning pathway with emphasis on Maths, Science and Engineering; GCSE choices are based heavily around STEM including Computer Science; History, Geography, Media Studies, Sports Science and Art & Design; GPUTC does not offer performing arts subjects such as Dance, Drama, Music or a Modern Foreign Language.
