Welcome from the Principal: The Prescot School is described as an inclusive school with a vision for all students to achieve academic potential and to develop holistically, living happy and successful lives. It is situated in a state‑of‑the‑art building and is part of The Heath Family Multi-Academy Trust, with leadership from the Principal who expresses ambition for growth and high standards of teaching and learning.

Curriculum Highlights

Key Stage 3 curriculum is broad and balanced and is supported by a two‑week timetable to maximise learning. The school uses Subject Knowledge Organisers (SKOs) for Years 7–9 and provides revision and learning strategies for students. Key Stage 4 offers a wide range of GCSE and BTEC courses; all pupils take GCSEs in Mathematics, English Literature, English Language, and either Combined or separate Sciences and at least one Humanities; the English Baccalaureate is available (English, Maths, Science, MFL and Humanities). PSHCE includes RE, Citizenship, Careers and sex education and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. Learning Portals and School Services include Office 365, ClassCharts, eLibrary Service, ParentPay, and Think Knowsley; additional tools include Tassomai (Science), Century Tech (English), and Sparx Maths.

SEND Provision

SEND provision follows an internal referral system. Parents are informed when a child is placed on SEND support. Four SEND categories are defined: Communication and interaction; Cognition and learning; Social, mental and emotional health; Sensory and/or physical. The school uses provisions under the Equality Act 2010 and maintains an accessibility plan and Local Offer links.
