"Together We Achieve"
Welcome from the Head of School, Mark Mackie, who emphasizes DGFS’s commitment to high-quality, inclusive teaching in a secure, safe, and happy environment, and the aim for every child to fulfil their potential and REACH for the stars through strong relationships and a nurturing school community.
DGFS provides SEND support via the REACH Room autism resource base (opened September 2024). The base allocates places for up to 8 students with EHCPs and formal autism diagnoses, who are fully included in mainstream classes (roughly 50% of the time in the Resource Base and 50% with mainstream peers). The number of staff in the Centre varies with level of need, and all staff have training and experience in working with pupils with autism. The provision can include access to Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists as outlined in EHCPs, and includes a sensory room to help develop calming strategies. For more information or to arrange a visit, contact SENDCo Mrs Broadway at [email protected] or 01753 861668.
Reception admissions are handled by The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) Schools Admissions (RBWM website or school admissions email). In-year transfers (Years 1–4) are handled by DGFS; an In-year Transfer Form must be completed and the original birth certificate and proof of address should be taken to the school office. Nursery admissions involve contacting the School Office; funding includes RBWM’s provision of 15 funded nursery hours per week for every child aged 3 and 4, with 30 hours of funded childcare available to working parents; extra sessions beyond funded hours cost £15 per session. Nursery place does not guarantee a Reception place. See DGFS Nursery Admissions and related documents for full details.
