Welcome to Westerton Primary Academy. We are a large three-form-entry school with around 700 pupils on roll, including a 52-place nursery. The school emphasizes learning beyond the curriculum, has a strong music focus with instrumental tuition, orchestras and choirs, and values pupil voice through Council groups. The Six C's (Courtesy, Consideration, Commitment, Consistency, Co-operation, Citizenship) guide decision making and partnerships with staff, governors and parents. It is presented as a welcoming, collaborative community with opportunities for staff and pupils alike.

Standard admission number of 90 for Reception. Places in Reception are offered up to the allocation limit according to the Leeds City Council admissions criteria. Priority criteria include: 1) children with a statement of special educational needs naming Westerton or where the authority decides a place is needed; 2) children with brothers or sisters who will be at the school at the start of the school year; 3) parental preference for children for whom the school is the nearest Leeds school. From September 2025, Nursery Fees & Charges: Every child aged 3 and 4 is entitled to Free Early Education for 15 hours per week. Some may be eligible for 30 hours per week. Additional sessions cost £21.00 (inclusive of lunch). If attending full days within the Free Early Education entitlement, lunch is charged at £2.10 per meal unless a packed lunch is provided.
