Head Teacher's Message

Welcome message from Headteacher: "It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Bethany CE Junior School. We have the highest aspirations for all our pupils to help them feel confident about making the transition to secondary school and equipped to make a difference in the world."

Curriculum Highlights

Curriculum follows the statutory requirements of the national curriculum and emphasises English and Mathematics as core subjects; they are taught discretely and as integrated elements across non-core subjects. Three fundamental drivers to the curriculum: Communication, Collaboration, Enquiry. Teaching and learning is based on Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction. Assessment forms: day-to-day formative assessment, in-school summative assessment and nationally standardised summative assessment. Curriculum is regularly monitored by the senior leadership team and subject leaders to ensure high progress and embedded learning.

SEND Provision

The school provides SEND information and support; SENDCO is Mrs Jo Wilson; Assistant Head of Inclusion is Mrs Jemma Sturgeon; Parent Support Worker Miss Gill; Safeguarding and SEND policies and resources are available through the Coastal Learning Partnership and school sections; Operation Encompass information is included as part of safeguarding.
