The Headteacher presents Beckfoot Upper Heaton as a vibrant, multicultural school aligned with the Beckfoot Trust mission to create remarkable schools where no child is left behind; emphasizes an ambitious curriculum and support for students from challenging backgrounds; notes that summer 2025 GCSE results were the highest in a decade.

Curriculum Highlights

Inclusive, mission-aligned curriculum designed to leave no child behind; broad and balanced and knowledge engaged; aims to prepare students for life beyond school. Curriculum is intended to develop successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

SEND Provision

Beckfoot Upper Heaton follows a graduated approach to SEND, with the school’s SEND coordinator Laura Newcombe and Deputy SEND Coordinator Emma Blyth involved in supporting pupils with additional needs; the Local Offer and related policies describe how needs are identified and addressed, including involvement of external agencies when required.

Admissions Criteria
