Head Teacher's Message

Matti Rehman states Eden Boys' School aims for educational excellence within a Muslim faith-based environment, focusing on high academic standards, a love of learning, developing critical thinking skills, preparing pupils for jobs that don’t yet exist, and promoting mutual respect and social responsibility.

Curriculum Highlights

At Key Stage 3, pupils will complete the following programmes of study: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, French or Urdu, Religious Education, Citizenship & RSHE, Art & Design, Nasheed (music), Computer Science and IT, Design Technology (including Food), Physical Education. At Key Stage 4, pupils will complete a range of qualifications. All pupils will follow a combination of core subjects which will enable them to achieve the English Baccalaureate: English, Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities and at least one modern foreign language. As part of the core curriculum, they will continue to study Physical Education, Religious Education, Citizenship and RSHE. KS4 subjects include: English (GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature – Core), Maths (GCSE Mathematics – Core), Science (GCSE Combined Science or GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry & GCSE Physics – Core), Computer Science (GCSE Computer Science – Optional), Modern Foreign Languages (GCSE French or GCSE Urdu – Core), Geography (GCSE Geography – Optional), History (GCSE History – Optional), Religious Studies (GCSE Religious Studies – Core), Citizenship (GCSE Citizenship Studies – Optional), Art (GCSE Art and Design – Optional), Design and Technology (GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition – Optional), Digital Information Technology (BTEC Level 2 Digital IT – Optional), Physical Education (Level 2 Award in Health and Fitness – Optional). Gifted and Talented pupils may complete some GCSEs early and have the option of studying Level 3 courses in Year 11 to prepare for 6th Form. A very small number of pupils requiring cognitive learning support will undertake an alternative pathway, including nationally and industry-recognised awards and qualifications, developing a personalised portfolio to include GCSE, approved high-value vocational qualifications and Entry Level and pre-GCSE courses to ensure they are meaningful for pupils and support their next steps.
