Curriculum Highlights

Reading sits at the heart of the curriculum. Phonics and early reading taught with Read Write Inc (EYFS and Year 1). Mathematics taught with Abacus Maths with revision and over-learning to reach expected standards; additional resources like Classroom Secrets used to extend reasoning. English delivered with Read, Write Inc Literacy and Language; Nelson used for guided reading to develop retrieval, inference and word meaning; reading fluency and comprehension developed. Foundation subjects taught through Plan Bee; other subjects use RE Today Services, Jigsaw, La Jolie Ronde, Switched on Computing, Charanga, PE Passport. Trips, visiting experts and wide range of clubs and activities; instrumental music lessons available (guitar, woodwind, piano or drums) paid for by parents.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions for September 2026 open 1 November 2025 and close 15 January 2026 via Thurrock Council. All reception pupils start in September. There has been an increase in planned admission numbers (PAN) to 96 for years 3–5 for the 2024-25 academic year. Admission policies and processes are managed through Thurrock Council; nursery admissions are handled via the school with separate application processes and published Nursery admissions information.
