Head Teacher's Message

The Head of School emphasizes outstanding teaching, an engaging and meaningful curriculum, rich experiences (such as trips and links with the Royal Opera House) and a focus on attainment and progress, with classes prioritising high standards and progress tracking to help every pupil reach their potential.

Curriculum Highlights

The GLC Pedagogy Wheel outlines the key principles, tools and strategies our teachers rigorously apply to ensure teaching and learning is consistently good or better. The Learning Competencies: analysis and argument; questioning; generation and application of ideas; and confident expression in a range of media. Oracy education follows a combination of Voice 21 and Pixl, with explicit vocabulary development (Read it, Say it, Define it, Use it) and oracy sentence starters; Oracy Champions promote speaking skills in classes. Blended Learning includes 1:1 devices for Key Stage 2, use of Google Workspace Applications and Google Classroom, and emphasis on safe online search with antivirus and filtering software.

SEND Provision

The GLC emphasizes high‑quality inclusive teaching and a graduated approach to tailor provision for a range of needs. It states that all staff share responsibility for SEND, encapsulated by the idea that “Every teacher is a teacher of pupils with SEND” and “Every leader is a leader of pupils with SEND.”
