Headteacher Drew Brown describes Brambleside as a warm and vibrant school in a popular residential area of Kettering. It is consistently one of the county’s highest performing schools, with around 420 pupils and oversubscription. The school is a stand-alone Academy working with Ask Teaching Network, PiXL and Unity Schools Partnership. The curriculum is challenging and engaging, with a focus on preparing children to be ‘secondary ready’, developing resilience, motivation and curiosity, and fostering respect and pride in the Brambleside identity. The school emphasizes safety, happiness and partnership with the community and parent body.
Brambleside Primary is an inclusive school with a broad and balanced curriculum and high quality teaching. It aims to identify and provide for SEND from the earliest contact with parents, ensuring all pupils have full access to the curriculum. The SENCO coordinates appropriate strategies and interventions, with parental involvement, and referrals to external agencies when appropriate. The school offers a range of provision to meet individual needs and regularly reviews progress and targets with parents.
Up to 60 Foundation Stage places are admitted each year. Oversubscription criteria are in this order: children in public care or previously looked after; children of staff; siblings; children living closer to the school; other pupils. If the admission number is exceeded under a criterion, priority is given to those living further from the nearest alternative school. For in-year transfers, contact North Northamptonshire Council Admissions. Official Determined Admissions Policies for 2025 and 2026 are provided by the council.
