St Chad’s C of E Primary School is a Church of England primary school with a Christian ethos; the school promotes Christian teaching and a Bible gift funded by the PTA for Reception and Year Six.
Headteacher Mrs Gina Marsland describes St. Chad’s as a warm, welcoming and inclusive community where the vision “In the light of God, we care, we share, we laugh, we learn” underpins daily practice. The message emphasizes partnership with parents, a strong PTA, and an open invitation to visit the school.
Clubs
OOHA Club operates from 7.30am until 8.45am and from 3.15pm until 6pm. Enrolment is required and can be arranged via the school office. Breakfast is provided in the morning along with a small meal after school.
Our Inclusion Leader is Miss Jackie Matthews, who has overall responsibility for coordinating inclusive provision across the school. Staff receive training tailored to roles and starting dates, including Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, Making Sense of Autism (Tier 1), Good Autism Practice (Tier 2), Leading Good Autism Practice (Tier 3), ADHD, Trauma and Attachment Needs, The Thrive Approach, Dyslexia, Deaf and Hearing Impairments, Down’s Syndrome and Developmental Language Disorder. The school undertakes ongoing consultation with pupils and parents to improve SEND practices.
Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 30 per year group. The school follows admissions policies, including a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) for faith criteria. In-year applications are managed through Leeds coordinated schemes. Waiting lists are kept until the end of the school year. For reception places, applications are submitted to the local authority with offers made by the Local Authority on national offer day.
Nursery has 15 hour and 30 hour places with specific options: 15 hour places allow five mornings (9:00am-12:00pm) or five afternoons (12:00pm-3:00pm) or two and a half days (two full days 9am-3pm plus one morning or one afternoon); hot dinner available at £2.55 per day. 30 hour places provide five days (10 sessions) with options for all-day 9:00am-3:00pm or separate morning (9:00-12:00) or afternoon (12:00-3:00) sessions; children may bring a packed lunch or purchase a hot dinner at £2.55 per day. Early Start and Late Finish are available (8:45-9:00 and 3:00-3:15) for an additional £2.50. OOHA Breakfast club runs 7:30am-8:50am and after-school from 3:10pm-6:00pm; enrolment is via the school office. School meals for Years 3-6 cost £2.65 per day; Reception–Year 2 receive Universal Infant Free School Meals. Online ParentPay is used to pay for meals where applicable.
