Head Teacher's Message

Kat Lang, Principal, states that the school aims to be welcoming and for everyone to succeed, providing opportunities that contribute to the community and wider world, with a focus on cultural capital and enrichment, underpinned by academic rigour and excellence. Core values are resilience, integrity and courtesy; drivers are mastery, autonomy and purpose.

Curriculum Highlights

Powerful knowledge curriculum underpinning student learning. English Baccalaureate (EBacc) pathway: English, Maths and Science with Spanish and RE to GCSE; History and Geography studied in Years 7-9 and GCSE in Year 9. Vocational qualifications available in PE, Music, Art & Design, Drama, and Computing. Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Bronze level in Year 9 within a timetabled lesson, with possible continuation to Silver in later years via after-school sessions. Two-week timetable: 24×55 minute lessons on Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri; 6×50 minute lessons on Tuesday; 4×20 minute Morning Meeting sessions; Thursday includes a longer morning session (Cultural Studies).
