Headteacher Dave Thompson welcomes readers, emphasizes NUAST as a STEM-focused academy with industry and university links, a diverse community, high expectations, and a careers programme designed to prepare students for higher education or employment.

Curriculum Highlights

STEM-focused curriculum for KS3-5 EBacc is offered and designated core government subjects are taught; includes a language GCSE core subjects: Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Triple Science Three specialist pathways: EBACC Pathway, Engineering/Technical Pathway, IT/Computing Technical Pathway Optional GCSE subjects include Art (Photography), History, Geography, Spanish, Business Studies, Food Technology, Product Design, Computer Science, Physical Education KS5 qualifications: A Levels (including Mathematics and Further Mathematics, etc.) and BTECs/Cambridge Nationals; Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) offered

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are through Nottingham City Council. Applications for Year 7 must be made online via the council’s system and NUAST cannot accept direct applications. In-year admissions are processed through Nottingham City Council as well.

Financial Information

Education provided during academy hours is free. The school states that no student may be left out of an activity because a parent/carer cannot or will not contribute. The Charging and Remissions Policy covers voluntary contributions and additional charges for activities.
