Admissions Criteria

The University of Birmingham School admits 150 Year 7 pupils each year. Admissions are via the Birmingham City Council process with a Published Admissions Number (PAN) of 150. It uses a nodal admissions system drawing from four nodes across Birmingham: the school main entrance and three nodal entrances (Hall Green Station, Jewellery Quarter Station, Small Heath Station). Priority is given to pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the School, looked-after children, and siblings currently attending the School; places are offered by shortest distance, and in the event of a tie, by random allocation. The deadline for Year 7 applications for entry in September 2026 is 31 October 2025. Waiting lists exist for in-year admissions as of current information.
