The Cedars Academy Speech and Language Centre is a provision for children and young people with a Statement of Educational Needs or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) whose primary needs lie in speech, language and communication. Places are allocated by the Local Authority SEN Assessment service. The Centre provides a language-adapted curriculum with differentiation, a team of specialist staff, one-to-one and small group work, weekly language groups led by Speech and Language Therapists, assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, planning interventions and target setting. There are dedicated classrooms and work areas within the Centre, and visits for parents/carers can be arranged by contacting the Centre via telephone (0116 267 7107) or email.
