The motto is ‘Valuing everyone as learners’, and the vision emphasizes inclusion, Every Child Matters, a broad and balanced curriculum, high behavioural standards, mutual respect, and a commitment to staff development and collaboration.
Breakfast club (Early Birds) runs from 7:30am to 8:40am; cost £4 per session; no booking required; KS1 entrance gates used. There is an After School Provision (ASP) running Monday–Friday during term time from 3:15pm to 6:00pm. Booking for the ASP is through the provided booking system (https://giffardsprimary.magicbooking.co.uk); sessions cost £5 per session from 3:10/3:15 to 4:30 or up to 6:00pm for £11. Giffards has a large number of classroom assistants to maintain an excellent adult-to-pupil ratio. Visiting part-time staff support specialised aspects of the curriculum (e.g., P.E., music, dance). The school has access to counsellors and other professionals, and an Inclusion Team to arrange meetings as needed. Visiting specialists such as physiotherapists and speech therapists are also available.
Lunch: From 1 September 2025, KS2 lunch is £2.80 per day; KS1 meals are funded by the government and are free for KS1. Meals must be ordered by 9:30am each day; menus operate on a 3-week rota. Dinners are paid online via the school’s payments system; cash payments are not accepted. Free school meals are available for all KS1 pupils and for KS2 pupils in certain benefit categories; the school also highlights funding for eligible pupils (Pupil Premium, looked-after pupils, and service families). In 2024-2025, the school expects £1,480 per eligible pupil for free school meals, £2,570 per looked-after pupil, and £340 per service family pupil.
