Knollmead currently offers fully funded 15 hours of learning and care during morning sessions (8:45am-11:45am). Additional afternoon sessions are available in Reception (government or self-funded): Lunch Club 11:45am-1:00pm and Afternoon session 12:15pm-3:15pm. You may be eligible for an additional 15 hours government funded childcare. Self-funded costs: Lunch Club £10 per session; Afternoon session £24 per session. If your child stays for lunch, they can bring a packed lunch or purchase a school dinner at £2.80.
Knollmead runs two Specialist Resource Provisions (SRP). Sunshine SRP is for pupils who are deaf, with capacity for 12 children from Nursery to Year 6. It uses an oral/aural approach; staff include two Teachers of the Deaf and Teaching Assistants; a Speech and Language Therapist and Speech and Language Therapy Assistant work with pupils; an onsite ELSA supports identified children; equipment is checked each morning and listening checks occur. The Diamonds/Sapphires/Emerald SRP is for pupils with social communication needs, including autism. Sapphire (EY/KS1) and Emerald (KS2) have a specialist teacher, HLTA and additional TAs; curriculum is bespoke around the 4 areas of need; referrals can be made via Educational Psychologists or SLTs; provision is flexible, personalised and monitored for impact. Regular staff training and collaboration with external services support provision.
Admissions: Applications for Reception in September should be made online via the Kingston eAdmissions portal, with up to six schools listed in order of preference; the closing date for Reception is 15 January 2026. In-year applications are made via the Kingston online in-year form; processing typically takes 10-20 school days. You will be contacted about a place or waiting list position and must accept the offer within five days. You have a legal right to appeal against a decision not to offer a place.
