Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher Su Yay-Walker welcomes families and describes Burlington as a happy, vibrant community that values diversity, excellence, wellbeing and safeguarding, with a commitment to nurturing confident, resilient learners.

Curriculum Highlights

Task Time introduced to support children’s progress of knowing more and remembering more across non-core subjects (History, Geography, Art, DT, RE and PSHE). Focus on recovering wellbeing and rebuilding learning post-pandemic, bridging gaps in knowledge and skills arising from lockdown. Priority subjects this year: Geography, Computing, Music. Continued emphasis on developing Oracy across the curriculum.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Acorns Breakfast and After-School Club provides wrap-around childcare for pupils aged 3 years and above. Breakfast Club is open from 7.30am on weekdays during term time; After School Club is open from 3.20pm until 6pm on weekdays during term time (5.00pm on early-closure days).

SEND Provision

SEND provision includes SENCo Michelle Docwra; SEND Local Offer provided by Achieving for Children; Attainment of IQM Flagship School Award; Attachment Aware Schools Award; Speech and Language support information and access available through the school.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions follow Kingston Council arrangements; Reception applications process via the E-Admissions online portal with a deadline of 15 January 2026; Nursery admissions are processed by the school via an online portal; being in Nursery does not guarantee a Reception place; outside-borough families should apply through their home local authority.
