The academy is committed to working closely with parents, families and the local community to meet pupils’ needs.
Ark Boulton Academy provides SEND support through Universal, Targeted and Specialist provisions. Pupils have Pupil Passports; Enhanced Provision team; interventions include Read Write Inc. Fresh Start reading intervention for those with a reading age under nine in years 7–9, Lexia PowerUp, and a Reading programme. NGRT assessments measure reading progress; Dyslexia Screener and YARC assessments help identify needs. If concerns are highlighted, referrals can be made to external agencies; there is an in-house counsellor and a mental health lead; there are access arrangements for assessments and exams; regular reviews with external agencies occur as needed.
