Queensbridge provides a person-centred SEND provision led by the SENDCO, Assistant SENDCO and SEND Administrator, using QB Learning Profiles and a whole-school provision map. The school operates a TIASS (Trauma Informed and Attachment Aware School) approach with staff trained in TIASS principles. External agencies and interventions may be used, including PSS, PDSS, Educational Psychologist, CAT team, SALT, VI and SSOS, with 1:1 support and Raising Achievement Assistants (RAAs) as needed. The SEND team collaborates with pupils and parents, seeking consent for referrals, and regular reviews determine progress and next steps. The school provides transition support, pupil voice in annual reviews, and a range of targeted and universal supports to enable pupils with SEND to access the curriculum and participate in wider school life.
Queensbridge follows Local Authority guidelines with priority order: Looked after or previously looked after children; children with a brother or sister at the school who will still be attending in September 2024; children of staff; children who live nearest the school. Year 7 applications are made online via the Local Authority, and in-year applications can be made directly to the school. Families are advised to use the six available choices when selecting a school.
