Curriculum Highlights

Reading is central to the curriculum with Accelerated Reader and Reading for Pleasure initiatives. Phonics: Read Write Inc used across Early Years and KS1 with 1:1 catch-up sessions and parental workshops. Writing: Talk for Writing approach with ISHA handwriting and Spelling Shed; core reading spine supporting writing. Mathematics: Mastery approach with TimesTables Rockstars and a badge system to reward fluency. Curriculum is knowledge-rich and progressive across year groups; reading, vocabulary and citizenship are emphasised. Geography, History, Computing, Science, Art, Design Technology, Music, PSHE, PE, RE and French are all part of a broad, knowledge-based curriculum. PSHE includes Votes for Schools, school council and British values integration. PE uses Horizon PE Curriculum with activities across EYFS to KS2 and aims for an 'Active Start' and life-long fitness. French is taught from Year 3 using PLN scheme with focus on oracy and cultural awareness.
