Barrs Court School provides a SEND Local Offer and SEND Information Report updated annually. The Local Offer addresses how the school identifies and assesses pupils with SEND, how the curriculum and learning environment are adapted for SEND, how equipment and facilities are provided to support pupils, how progress is assessed and communicated to parents, how pupils are consulted about their education, how staff training and involvement of other organisations support SEND, and how pupils transition to other settings or post-16 destinations.
Admission to Barrs Court School is through recommendation by the SEN team for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan). All pupils on roll have been assessed as having a learning difficulty and may have additional characteristics; pupils can be admitted between the ages of 11 and 19 depending on availability of spaces.
