Admissions are managed by Bradford local authorities. One In A Million Free School is significantly over-subscribed. The following criteria are used in order: 1) Looked after children or previously looked after children or pupils with an Education Health Care Plan where OIAMFS is stated as first preference; 2) Children with a sibling attending the school at the time of application; 3) Children with an exceptional medical, behaviour or social need, supported by a written recommendation from an independent professional (e.g., hospital consultant/paediatrician or social worker) explaining why attendance at OIAM school is essential and why no other school could provide the appropriate support; 4) Children who clearly show aptitude in Arts or Sports (up to 10% of places) based on written evidence from a relevant professional or previous teachers; 5) If more than 6 applications have support, places are determined by random selection. After allocation, applications are split into three geographical areas with specified place distribution (less than 1 mile up to 20%, 1–2 miles up to 40%, over 2 miles up to 40%). Open evening offered for interested applicants, and Indication of Interest forms are available at reception.
