Sports
Starting Year 7, Crossley Heath admits 180 pupils each year. Entry is determined by academic ability and attainment identified by an admissions exam (the FSCE Entrance Test) which assesses English and Maths and includes a Creative Writing task. Papers (except Creative Writing) are marked by computer and age-standardised. The test focuses on KS2 content taught up to end of Year 5 to reduce tutor dependency. A child may take the test only once, and candidates are ranked accordingly. In-year transfer tests are held each term with waiting lists and vacancy-based offers.
