Parkside Primary Academy is committed to providing an inclusive environment and supports pupils with SEND through a graduated approach. The SENCO is Miss Haverty. The school aims to remove barriers to learning and improve outcomes for pupils with SEND, including collaboration with external services when needed and ongoing parent involvement. The school works toward The SEND Inclusion Award and provides information via the SEND blog and related policies.
Nursery admissions offer 15 hours (5 mornings or 5 afternoons) and some 30-hour places; children can be admitted to Nursery from age three, subject to availability, with applications via Barnsley Council. Attendance at nursery does not guarantee a place in Parkside. For admission to School, parents have the right to apply for a place at any school; applications should be made in the Autumn Term for entry the following September. Details are set out in the Admissions Policy; there is consultation on 2027-28 arrangements (PAN changes for some Trust schools may be proposed).
